FAQ

The 2026 timetable will come into effect on Sunday, December 14, 2025. This is the most significant reorganization of the VMCV network in nearly ten years, with a new network in the Vevey area and neighboring municipalities, more lines crossing the city of Vevey, and a general improvement in service.

Fewer transfers.

The main lines are diametrically opposed in Vevey: they cross the city instead of stopping at the station. Specifically, lines 211 and 212 (Corseaux, Fenil, Corsier) are combined with the eastern lines serving La Tour-de-Peilz, Novalles, and Chailly.

The result: a direct journey with no transfers and fewer changes.

Diametralization involves connecting two existing lines on either side of the station to create a single through line. Lines 211 and 212 (west) and 207, 208, and 209 (east) are thus combined, creating a continuous east-west axis through Vevey.

The frequency of services on key routes is being increased, with more frequent buses during peak hours.

The frequency of service on major routes will be increased, with more frequent buses during peak hours.

Line 209 will be discontinued in the 2026 timetable. Its stops and service will be taken over by lines 211 and 212, which will cover the areas previously served by line 209, with continuous connections to Vevey station and increased frequency.

When the new timetable comes into effect in December 2025, changes to routes may mean adjustments to Mobilis zones. If your pass no longer covers the right zones, you can go to the VMCV ticket office in Clarens, CFF stations, or partner sales points to get it updated right away. The change will be made on a pro rata basis so that you only pay the difference until the end of your pass’s validity period.

No. If your subscription becomes insufficient due to a change in route, you can adjust it by adding or removing zones. This can be done at the VMCV ticket office in Clarens, at SBB stations, or at partner sales points, and the price will be recalculated on a pro rata basis so that you only pay the difference.

Shorter journey times, direct connections thanks to diametralization, more frequent services during peak hours on the lines, and optimized connections with trains.

More frequent buses in the evening and on weekends making cultural and sporting events more accessible without a car.

Develop connections between the lower and upper parts of the metropolitan area, improve attractiveness and travel times, systematize the secondary network, increase service frequency, including in the evenings and on Sundays, encourage modal shift from peripheral regions, better integrate the network with the rail system, and support decarbonization while remaining productive and competitive.
